Group Instruction

Engaging, hands-on classes in primitive skills, wilderness survival, traditional crafts, and the technologies our ancestors used to live from the natural world. Participants learn practical skills such as friction fire, primitive woodworking, natural cordage, stone tools, copper work, shelter, and wild food while gaining a deeper understanding of the ingenuity and resourcefulness behind them. Customized Instruction

Customized, private classes for families, friends, corporate groups, schools, organizations, and special events. Participants can choose from a range of primitive skills and traditional crafts including friction fire, woodcarving, stone tools, natural cordage, copper work, shelter, and more. Private programs can be tailored to the group’s interests, experience level, location, and available time. Some additional details may be found on the Classes page.

Handcrafted reproductions of historical and prehistorical objects using traditional materials, techniques, and tools whenever practical. Each piece is designed to capture the appearance of the original artifact and also the function. These reproductions are suitable for collectors, film productions, educators, museums, and historical interpreters. I should mention that I spent 5 years running my own antique clock restoration business which involved careful fabrication of parts in brass, steel, wood, and many other materials.
