Handmade Copper Cloak Pin Workshop with Dug North
Step back in time and learn to craft a traditional copper cloak pin — a fastener used throughout Europe since the Iron Age.
In this hands-on workshop, you will cut, bend, hammer, shape, and finish copper using simple hand tools. By the end of the class, you'll leave with a fully functional handcrafted cloak pin.
No prior metalworking experience is required.

Roots Rendezvous
I am scheduled to teach on Sunday, September 6th at this year’s Roots Rendezvous. If you are not familiar with it, this is a three day traditional and ancestral skills event held the Roots School in Bradford, Vermont. The Rendezvous features three days of workshops offered by a diverse group of experienced teachers from all over the country.
There are a wide array of topics. My class will be on how to make a copper cloak pin. At present, it is scheduled to occur on Sunday afternoon.
